By using Vael (whether through the iOS app, the website at vael.style, or the browser extension) you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any of them, please stop using the product. These terms are intentionally written in plain language so there is no room for interpretation games.
Your account
You need an account to use most of Vael. Keep your sign-in credentials safe. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. If you share your account with someone else, their activity is on you.
Age requirement. You must be at least sixteen years old to create a Vael account. Vael involves uploading photos of yourself for virtual try-on and sharing outfits with friends; we do not knowingly allow under-sixteens on the platform. If you are between thirteen and fifteen, please come back when you're sixteen — even if your jurisdiction's general digital-consent age is lower. If we learn an account belongs to someone under sixteen, we'll close it.
Your content
Photos of your clothes, your body photo, saved looks, and try-on results are yours. You keep full ownership of them. When you use Vael you grant us the minimum license we need to run the product: store your photos in our backend, process them through our AI pipeline to produce tags and try-on renders, and deliver them back to you on any device you've signed into. We do not use your photos to train any AI model and we do not share them with advertisers.
When you explicitly share a look or outfit via the "Share" button, you are making that specific piece of content publicly viewable at a token-gated URL. You can revoke that share at any time and it stops being viewable within seconds. Anyone visiting a shared look's URL between the time you shared and the time you revoked may have seen the image.
When you grant a friend access to your wardrobe or stories on Vael, that friend can view those items inside the Vael app for as long as your permission stands. Revoking the permission cuts off their access immediately.
Subscriptions and AI credits
Vael Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store and managed via RevenueCat on our side. Billing is handled by Apple; we don't see or store your payment information. You can cancel at any time in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refunds are at Apple's discretion according to their usual policy.
Some AI features (e.g. virtual try-on, Smart Import for outfit photos) are gated by AI credits. Free accounts receive a starter allowance; Pro plans include a recurring monthly allowance, and additional credits can be purchased as a one-time top-up. Credits granted by a Pro subscription expire when the subscription period ends; one-time credit purchases do not expire while your account is active. Free-tier feature limits (wardrobe size, AI features, etc.) can change. We'll tell you before reducing limits for existing users; we're more likely to loosen them over time.
Acceptable use
Don't use Vael to upload or render imagery of anyone other than yourself without their explicit consent. Don't upload content that is illegal, depicts a minor (anyone under eighteen) in a nude or sexualized way, infringes someone else's rights, or is sexually explicit. Don't attempt to reverse-engineer our AI pipeline, scrape our backend, or circumvent rate limits or credit gates. Don't use the public /try demo or the browser extension to abuse third-party retailers (e.g., by scraping their catalog at scale through our pipeline).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and we cooperate with law enforcement when legally required.
Content moderation & reporting
Vael uses automated content filters at the AI provider layer (Google Gemini) for every image submitted for try-on. Submissions that violate the provider's safety policy or ours are refused and logged in our audit trail. Repeated violations on a single account result in a temporary pause of the AI features and may lead to permanent suspension. We publish basic numbers about moderation activity on our transparency page.
If you see content on Vael that you believe violates these terms — for example, someone using your photo without your consent, sexually explicit material, or content involving a minor — email us at abuse@vael.style with a description and a link or screenshot. We aim to respond within seventy-two hours and we typically remove or soft-disable disputed content within twenty-four hours of a good-faith report. Knowingly false reports may themselves be a violation.
For copyright takedowns, send a notice that includes (a) the copyrighted work, (b) the location of the alleged infringing material on Vael, (c) your contact information, and (d) a statement made under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner. Send to the same abuse@vael.style.
AI-generated content
Virtual try-on results are generated by Google's Gemini image model from your inputs. They are photorealistic approximations, not guarantees of fit, color, or appearance. What the AI shows you is not a promise about the real garment. Use your own judgment before purchasing.
Other AI features in Vael — including outfit suggestions, Find My Size, capsule wardrobes, packing lists, outfit critiques, and style chat — are powered by large language models and may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or surprising results. They are advisory, not authoritative.
Third-party sites (browser extension)
The Vael browser extension injects a "Try on with Vael" button on product pages across the web. Product images, price data, and site layouts belong to the retailers hosting them. We do not claim any rights to that content. When you click the button, we open our own /try flow with the product image URL. We don't redistribute, modify, or republish the retailer's content.
If you operate a retail website and would prefer our extension not run on your domain, users can disable per-domain in extension settings, or you can contact us and we'll block your domain at the extension level in the next release.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Vael is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will work without errors, or that AI-generated images or recommendations will accurately represent any real garment or outcome. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, e.g., a purchase you regret because the garment didn't look the same in person as it did in the Vael try-on. Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes
We may revise these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app and on this page. Continued use after a change counts as acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Serbia, where Vael is operated. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Belgrade.
