Vael is an opt-in social fashion app. Most of what you do here is private to you — your wardrobe, your try-ons, your saved looks. The only paths where your content reaches another person are mutual-friend stories, friend mix renders, and style polls; those paths are what this page is about.
Our rules
The full rules live in our Terms. The short version: don't upload content that's illegal, sexually explicit, depicts a minor in any state of undress or sexualised framing, infringes someone else's rights, or impersonates another person. You must be sixteen or older to use Vael.
How content gets reviewed
Automated review. Every image submitted for virtual try-on is screened by Google Gemini's content safety filter. Photo stories — the path that uploads a raw camera photo to be shown to your friends — are screened a second time by a dedicated classifier before storage. Hits land in our internal audit log so a human can review patterns.
User reports. Every shared surface has a Report button (story viewer, style polls, friend renders). When you report something, it goes into a queue we review daily and emails our moderation address. After two independent reports against the same target, the content is auto-hidden pending review.
Human review. A real person reviews every reported piece of content. Decisions: remove + notify the poster, or dismiss the report. Removed posts trigger an in-app notification to the poster with the violation category and a path to appeal.
By the numbers (last 30 days)
- 0 user reports received
- 0 reports actioned (content removed)
- 0 reports dismissed (no action)
- 0 automated content blocks at the AI layer
Reporting + appeals
To report content from inside the app, tap the "..." menu on any shared surface and choose Report. To report content from outside the app, or to file a copyright takedown, email abuse@vael.style with a description and a link or screenshot. We aim to respond within seventy-two hours.
If your content was removed and you believe the decision was wrong, you can submit an appeal from the moderation notification you'll receive in-app. Appeals are reviewed by a different person than the one who removed the content.
EU users — DSA
Vael is operated from Serbia and complies with the EU Digital Services Act on a best-effort basis given our size. The single point of contact for DSA-related correspondence (including notices from Member State authorities and the European Commission) is abuse@vael.style. The numbers above will be aggregated into an annual transparency report when our active-user count crosses the DSA's reporting threshold.
